Notes

Substitutions
Soy sauce- I usually use gluten free soy sauce in this recipe. You can use coconut aminos, tamari, or Worcestershire sauce if you don't have soy sauce.
Honey- You can use maple syrup instead of honey.
Fresh garlic- If you don't have fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder.
Rice vinegar- You can use apple cider vinegar instead of rice vinegar.
Frequently asked questions
What is sriracha made of?
Sriracha or rooster sauce is made from chili peppers, sugar, salt, distilled vinegar, potassium sorbate, sodium bisulfite, and xanthan gum.
What does honey sriracha sauce taste like?
Honey sriracha sauce is a sweet and spicy sauce with an Asain flare. It has a perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and tangy.
Is sriracha healthy?
If you are looking for clean ingredients, sriracha is probably something you won't use. There is a fantastic sriracha from Yellow Bird that has super clean ingredients that you can use.
Tips and notes
You can whisk all these ingredients together and eat it as is but bringing the sauce to a low boil will thicken it up and make an amazing glaze.
Adding a little bit of fresh lime juice or fresh lemon juice to this spicy sauce would be awesome! All you need is the juice from half a lemon or lime.
To make this sauce less spicy, use less sriracha. I would use ¼ cup of sriracha instead of ⅓ cup.
To make this sauce sweeter, add more honey. I would add ½ cup of honey instead of ⅓ cup.
What to serve with
Here are some great recipes and ways to use this sticky sauce.
  • Honey Sriracha Shrimp
  • a dipping sauce for Gluten Free Coconut Shrimp
  • a dipping sauce for french fries
  • a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or chicken tenders
  • let cool and use as a salad dressing
  • roasted or air fryer Brussels sprouts
  • honey sriracha chicken- coat grilled chicken breast or grilled chicken thighs with the sauce
  • chicken wings- coat chicken drumsticks with the sauce and grill or bake them
  • roasted or air fryer sweet potatoes
  • mix with mayo to make a sweet and spicy sriracha mayo
  • spoon on top of salmon
  • a dipping sauce for egg rolls or spring rolls
  • a dipping sauce for meatballs or coat them in the sauce
Storing and reheating
Store the hot sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can eat the remaining sauce cold straight out of the fridge but I like to heat it up to at least room temperature in the microwave or on the stovetop in a small saucepan.
