Notes

Substitutions
Limes- If you don't have fresh limes then you can use lemon juice.
Vegan sour cream- I love using the Kite Hill brand of dairy free sour cream but you can use whatever brand you like and can find at your local grocery store.
Garlic- If you don't have fresh garlic you can use garlic powder. I would use ½ teaspoon of garlic powder.
Jalapeno- Adding half of a jalapeno to this Mexican crema adds a nice flavor profile and not a lot of heat. You can leave this out altogether or if you like a spicy creamy sauce then you can add the whole jalapeno.
Tips and notes
I use a regular sized food processor to mix this vegan crema but you can use a mini food processor, a small blender, or even an immersion blender.
If you have a small squeeze bottle you can add this creamy avocado sauce to it to make it easier to drizzle over your favorite dishes.
What to serve with
This tasty sauce makes a perfect topping for so many dishes. Here are a few ways you can use it.
  • On top of stuffed peppers
  • Use as a dipping sauce for tortilla chips
  • On top of burrito bowls
  • On top of veggie burgers
  • Add a little olive oil or avocado oil to make a creamy avocado dressing. It makes for a perfect salad dressing!
  • Dip your favorite veggies in it
Storing
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
