EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • Air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken tenders
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup Frank's Original Hot Sauce
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon melted ghee
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Whisk the egg in a large mixing bowl then add the chicken tenders to the bowl and coat them in the egg.
  • On a large plate, combine the almond flour and seasoning.
  • One at a time place a chicken tender in the almond flour mixture being sure to coat all sides.
  • Spray the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray and evenly place the chicken tenders in your basket. You will need to do this in batches.
  • Spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray and cook at 400 degrees for 6 minutes. Flip the chicken, spray the top of the chicken with cooking spray, and cook for another 6 minutes at 400 degrees
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot sauce and melted ghee.
  • Once the chicken is done cooking, dip each chicken tender in the sauce coating all sides.
  • Place the chicken back in the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 2 minutes.
  • Repeat these steps till all chicken tenders are cooked.

Notes

Substitutions
Chicken tenders- You can use chicken breast or cut your chicken breast into tenders.
Frank's hot sauce- I use Frank's original hot sauce but Crystal's Louisianna Hot sauce works great. You can also use your favorite bottled buffalo sauce. I love Primal Kitchen's buffalo sauce.
Almond flour- You can use regular or gluten free breadcrumbs or panko.
Ghee- If you have a severe dairy allergy use vegan butter. Regular butter works too!
Tip
Don't overcrowd the chicken tenders in your air fryer basket. Making sure they have some space is what helps give these tenders the perfect crisp. You will have to cook these in batches but trust me it's worth it.
 Storing and reheating
You can store any leftover chicken tenders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
I find the best way to reheat these to keep them crispy is in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 5 minutes or in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
