This spicy honey sriracha sauce is my new best friend. I love a sweet sauce and spicy food so this is the perfect marriage of ingredients and I put it on everything!
Making a homemade sauce is super easy! Most store bought sauces you buy from the grocery store have questionable ingredients like high fructose corn syrup. This easy sweet sriracha chili sauce uses only a handful of cleaner ingredients. You will end up loving it so much you'll want to drink it straight from the jar. I mean I've been known to eat it by the spoonful before, so I'm not judging.

Substitutions
Soy sauce- I usually use gluten free soy sauce in this recipe. You can use coconut aminos, tamari, or Worcestershire sauce if you don't have soy sauce.
Honey- You can use maple syrup instead of honey.
Fresh garlic- If you don't have fresh garlic, you can use 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Rice vinegar- You can use apple cider vinegar instead of rice vinegar.
Step by step
- Add the sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and minced garlic to a small bowl and whisk everything together.
- Add the sauce to a small saucepan and heat on medium-high heat until it starts to boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let it low boil for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened to a glaze.

Tips and notes
You can whisk all these ingredients together and eat it as is but bringing the sauce to a low boil will thicken it up and make an amazing glaze.
Adding a little bit of fresh lime juice or fresh lemon juice to this spicy sauce would be awesome! All you need is the juice from half a lemon or lime.
To make this sauce less spicy, use less sriracha. I would use ¼ cup of sriracha instead of ⅓ cup.
To make this sauce sweeter, add more honey. I would add ½ cup of honey instead of ⅓ cup.
Storing and reheating
Store the hot sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can eat the remaining sauce cold straight out of the fridge but I like to heat it up to at least room temperature in the microwave or on the stovetop in a small saucepan.
