Who doesn't love Easy Skinny Margaritas?
If you say you don't then I don't think we can be friends anymore. Just kidding! But seriously, margaritas are the best. I like to say that my favorite food is margaritas!
Being that margaritas are my my favorite cocktail (ugh I could really use one right about now), I needed to find a healthier version because margaritas are full of sugar and calories. That doesn't really help with the health journey that I have been on.
The recipe for these Easy Skinny Margaritas only calls for 4 simple ingredients, tequila (my favorite tequila to use is Teremana Blanco or Cazadores Tequila Blanco), lime juice, agave, and Topo Chico Lime. If you can't find Topo Chico Lime then I would suggest lime-flavored sparkling water of your choice (but Topo Chico Lime is the best!). Making margaritas always made me nervous because they seemed so hard. I had no idea that all you needed to do is add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, pour over ice, and it's cocktail time!
These Easy Skinny Margaritas have become my signature cocktail and I get asked to make them all the time. They are perfect for pairing with fajitas, a yummy Mexican bowl, or my Buffalo Chicken Bacon Wrapped JalapeÃ±o Poppers. My father-in-law is obsessed with these and every time he comes to town he requests them! He's the best 🙂
Easy Skinny Margaritas
- 2 shots of good tequila I like Teremana Blanco or Cazadores Blanco
- 2 shots of lime juice
- 2 tbsp agave
- Topo Chico Lime
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice
- Add the tequila, lime juice, and agave to the cocktail shaker
- Shake well and pour over two salt-rimmed glasses filled with ice
- Top off each cup with Topo Chico Lime
- Serve with a lime wedge
