If you love a margarita as much as I do, but don't want all the added sugar and calories, then this Topo Chico Margarita recipe is about to be your new go-to.

Margaritas have always been my favorite cocktail. Whether it's a date night out to our favorite Mexican place or a lazy night spent at home on the deck with Brent and the pups, making margaritas is always our go-to.
This version keeps things simple and a little cleaner with fresh lime juice, agave, your favorite tequila, and that crisp bubble from the Topo Chico. It's the perfect mix of light, refreshing, and just sweet enough! I love serving mine with shrimp tacos or bison enchiladas after a long day at work.

What makes this margarita unique?
What makes this margarita special is how light and fresh it tastes without losing that classic margarita flavor. The Topo Chico adds a bubbly twist that makes it extra refreshing, and the agave keeps it naturally sweet without being heavy. It's my favorite kind of drink-simple, clean, and quick to make, but still feels like something you'd sip on a sunny patio somewhere warm.
Ingredients

Can you make this ahead of time for a group?
Totally! This margarita is perfect for batching. If you're hosting a party or taco night, just mix the tequila, lime juice, and agave in a big pitcher ahead of time and keep it chilled in the fridge. When it's time to serve, pour the mix over ice and top each glass with cold Topo Chico so it stays nice and fizzy. If you add the Topo Chico too early, it will lose its fizzy bubbles, so wait till the last minute to top off the glasses with it.
I would calculate 1 shot of tequila, 1 shot of lime juice, and 1 tablespoon of agave per person. So, for 4 people you would mix: 4 shots of tequila, 4 shots lime juice, and 4 tablespoons of agave.
Kaleena's Tips
- Don't have agave? Honey or maple syrup makes a great swap for the agave.
- Want to make this spicy? I love a skinny spicy margarita! Adding a slice or two of fresh jalapenos to your glass will give a nice spicy kick.
- Want something a little sweeter? Add a splash of pineapple juice or slices of pineapple to your glass.
- Can't find Topo Chico Lime? No worries! Regular Topo Chico or club soda works great.
