There is nothing better on a game day than crispy wings. Is it even a game day party if you don't serve wings? The best part about these air fryer wings is that not only are they gluten free and easy to make, but they are also so versatile and can be made with any sauce you like. My personal favorite way to make these is buffalo sauce style and serve them alongside my roasted garlic crab dip and dill pickle egg salad.
What makes this recipe unique?
This wing recipe has a secret ingredient (baking soda) that makes it so the wings come out with the perfect crispy skin every single time.
Ingredients

How do I get crispy chicken wings without flour?
The best way to get those perfect crispy wings is by making sure you pat them dry, don't overcrowd them while cooking, and adding a little baking soda to them before cooking.
What internal temperature should chicken wings be cooked to?
Wings should be cooked to a minimum of 165 degrees, and the juices should run clear.
Sauce ideas
This recipe can be used with any sauce you like! I tend to always make them buffalo sauce style, but here are some great options you can try.
- Honey sriracha
- Garlic Parmesan
- Lemon pepper
- BBQ
- Koren BBQ
- Sesame
- Honey ginger
Step by step

- Pat dry the chicken wings with a paper towel, then add them to a large mixing bowl, and mix with a drizzle of avocado or olive oil, the garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, and baking soda.
- Spray the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray and place the chicken wings in a single layer in the basket. Be sure not to overcrowd them.
- Cook at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, then flip the chicken.
- Cook for another 12 minutes. You can cook for a little longer if you like your wings extra crispy.
- After the chicken is done cooking, remove them from the basket and place in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the buffalo sauce (or your favorite sauce) to the wings and toss till they are fully coated.
Kaleena's Tips
- To make sure the wings get nice and crispy, don't overcrowd them. You may need to do this in batches depending on how big your air fryer is.
- Don't skip the baking soda. That is what makes the wings get that nice crispy skin.
Storing and reheating
Storing: Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheating: Reheat in the airfryer at 375 degrees for 4-6 minutes, or in the oven at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
